Originally from North Carolina and a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, Kara began her career in the fashion industry in New York City. After moving back to North Carolina, she transitioned into the home furnishings industry, honing her skills in trend forecasting and building extensive product knowledge as an editor for a home furnishings trade magazine. After returning to school for interior design and working for one of North Carolina’s premiere interior designers, Lindsay Henderson Interiors, Kara established her own interior design firm in 2010.
Kara’s love of fashion and extensive travel, both here and abroad, influence her style as much as her upbringing. Marrying her fashion-forward look with traditional Southern style, Kara’s known for her expert color selection and pairings of traditional shapes with modern art and accessories. Her designs incorporate clean, tailored lines and dressmaker details, blurring the lines between fashion and home. She is able to create homes that reflect each client’s personality while infusing each space with a fresh version of classic style. Kara has clients throughout the Southeast. Her work has been featured in Traditional Home, HGTV Magazine, Style Blueprint, and on several prominent design blogs.
